Sándor MOLNÁR

Kossuth Prize and Munkácsy Award-winning painter and sculptor
He completed his art studies at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts. He founded the Zugló Circle, a group of progressive artists, in 1958. He met philosopher Béla Hamvas in 1962, and in 1965, he made the acquaintance of the members of the group of traditional French painters in Paris. He developed the theory of the painter’s yoga in 1966. He was a prominent representative of the Hungarian neo-avant-garde. He was a lecturer at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts between 1990 and 2005. His works can be found in the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery, the Kupferstich-Kabinett der Staat lichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden, and the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest.
