Ágnes PÉTER
(1949, Szabadszállás) sculptor
She graduated in sculpture in 1978 from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts, where her master was József Somogyi. Besides working with virtually all the materials used in sculpture, her most typical works are iron and specially polished chrome steel sculptures creating a multidimensional effect, installations, nature art compositions, electro graphics and experimental videos. She regularly exhibits her art and is invited to artists’ colonies and symposia abroad (Japan, India, Romania, Slovakia, Germany and Austria). Her prominent recognitions include Munkácsy Mihály-Prize (1998), the main prize of the International Graphic Art Biennial in Sepsiszentgyörgy, (2012), the Vörösmarty Prize of the Fejér County Local Government (2015), the Award of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists (2015, 2024) and the MET Award of the János Neumann exhibition (2023). Her works can be found in public collections both in Hungary and abroad as well as in sculpture parks.
