Sándor SZÁSZ
(1976, Marosvásárhely / Târgu Mureș, RO) painter
He graduated in painting in 2001 from the Hungarian University of Arts, where his master was Árpád Szabados. He was a co-founder of the Élesd Artists’ Colony and its organiser between 1997 and 2011. He was a founding member of the Budapest Art Factory in 2006 and is currently one of its leading artists. In the last decade, he has had solo shows in Budapest, Bucharest, Prague, London, Brussels, Târgu Mureș, Berlin and China. H e received the Strabag Award for Painting in 2002 and the Barcsay Prize in 2005. He won the Derkovits scholarship for the period of 2007–2009 and the art scholarship of the Hungarian academy of Arts for the period of 2018–2021. His works can be found in several foreign and domestic contemporary collections.
