Erzsébet F. BALOGH

(1955, Miskolc) painter

She graduated in biology and drawing from the Teacher Training College in Eger in 1977 and then, in 1989, from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where her teachers were Dr György Ruttkai, János Seres and Árpád Szabados. She became an assistant lecturer in 1985, and associate professor in 2002 at the Department of Drawing and Visual Arts of the Teacher Training College in Eger. She taught drawing and painting at the institution until 2018. She is a member of the Free Salon Association, the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists and the Hungarian Watercolour Society. She has been the arts director of the Jászdózsa International Art Colony since 2002. The basic concept of her painting is the effort to experience and model the anachronistic opposition of destruction and construction in the creative process. Her pictures are attempts to reinterpret the landscape, combining observation with emotional and poetic expression.
