István MADÁCSY

(1965, Nyíregyháza) graphic artist

He graduated in printmaking in 1996 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his masters were Alajos Eszik, Imre Kocsis and András Baranyay. He obtained his DLA degree in 2010. He received the Munkácsy Award in 2009. He won the main prize of the “Reformation 500” competition in 2017. He organized his solo exhibition in MODEM in Debrecen in 2018. Drawing and screen-printing techniques are at the centre of his graphic oeuvre. His works can be found in the contemporary graphic art collections of the Gallery of Miskolc and the Hungarian National Gallery.
