He graduated from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts in 1967 as a student of János Kmetty and Aurél Bernáth. He received the Derkovits scholarship for the period of 1970-1973. He has been a regular participant in individual and group exhibitions since 1965. He taught painting at the Secondary School of Visual Arts from 1987 to 2004. He had major solo exhibitions in Lübeck (2004), Brescia (2005) and Copenhagen (2010). He received the Munkácsy Award in 1994, while working on scholarships in Salzburg (1991), at the Hungarian Academy in Rome (2000) and in Strasbourg (2009). He received the Lifetime Achievement Award on the Day of Painting in 2015. A solo exhibition opened at the Vigadó Gallery to celebrate the 80th anniversary of his birth.
