Károly KELEMEN

Munkácsy Award-winning painter and sculptor
He graduated from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts in 1974. He exhibited regularly from the 1970s and he won a gold medal at the Festival International de la Peinture in Cagnes-sur-Mer in 1981. He held the scholarship of the Hungarian Academy in Rome in 1994, while he was an artist-in-residence at the Villa Roma na in Florence in 1998. He was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit in 2010. His works can be found in the collections of the MUMOK in Vienna, the Ludwig Forum in Aachen, as well as at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Ludwig Museum and the Hungarian National Gallery.
