Szultán BOGDÁNDY
(1953, Teleki) art brut artist
He started his career as a graphic designer: in addition to local posters, he made his own graphics in the screen workshop founded in Székesfehérvár. He also wrote stamp poems. His spatial sculpture era started in 1986. He was the first in Hungary to produce works that also contained organic materials, seeking to return to ancient art. His artistic activities, which he calls art brut, is determined by the desire to materialise visions and dreams. Observing the world and nature provide the source for his art. He turned his apartment building into a museum in 2015 with the aim of preserving and showing his art in a dignified manner: over a hundred of his works, representing the various periods of his oeuvre, can be seen at this venue in a unique environment. He won the Munkácsy Award in 2006 and the prize awarded by the Fine Arts Department of the Hungarian Academy of Arts in 2019.
