László VARGA-AMÁR

(1955, Budapest) painter

He graduated in painting in 1979 in the class of Ignác Kokas at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where he also attended the master course until 1980. He has organised more than a hundred exhibitions and participated in numerous group and solo shows both in Hungary and abroad. His works won prizes at many domestic and international exhibitions. He is the president of the fine art section of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists, vice-president of the BP-ART Cultural Association and a board member of the Contemporary Hungarian Gallery Foundation in Dunaszerdahely. He has received the Baktay Grand Medal (2002), the Kölcsey Prize (2005), the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit (2017) and the Munkácsy Award (2019). He has been a member of the public body of the Hungarian Academy of Arts since 2017. His works can be found in several private and public collections.
