Zsolt FERENCZY

(1970, Berettyóújfalu) fine artist

He graduated in painting in 2000 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his tutor was Zoltán Tölg-Molnár. He obtained his DLA here in 2008 and habilitated in 2019. He principally paints, draws and constructs installations. He is a member of the artists’ colonies in Élesdi and Gyermely. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Jenő Barcsay Foundation of Fine Arts and is an associate pr ofessor at the Institute of Visual Arts of the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger. In recent years, he has held solo exhibitions in Miskolc, Debrecen and Budapest. His major awards include the Amadeus Artist’s Scholarship (1999), the Oszkár Glatz Award (2000), the Barcsay Award (2006), the Studio of Young Artists’ Association Award (2006), the scholarship of the Hungarian Academy in Rome (2007), the scholarship of the Budapest Gallery in Vienna (2011), the Ottó Herman Museum Award (2018), and the Esterházy Art Award (2021). His works can be found in the Luciano Benetton Collection, the St. Gallen City Collection, the Vyom Art Center in India, the MODEM Gallery and Déri Museum in Debrecen, as well as in the Miskolc Gallery.
