Sándor KRIZBAI
(1949, Marosvásárhely / Târgu Mureș, RO) painter
He attended various BA courses in art in Marosvásárhely and then joined the Apollo Circle. His masters were Pál Nagy, Imre Baász, László Nemes and Attila Diénes. He settled in Hungary in 1983. He founded the group of Landscape Mysticism in 2011 (later the group of Earth Mysticism) with the purpose of studying and artistically documenting the cultural and spiritual traditions of the Carpathian Basin. In recent years, he has had prominent exhibitions at the Museum of Fine Arts in Chisinau, the Güler Sanat Gallery in Ankara, the Hungarian Institute in Istanbul and the Old Artists’ Colony in Szentendre. His most notable prizes include the Award of the Szinyei Merse Pál Society (2002), the Hungart scholarship (2003), the Munkácsy Award (2006), the Award of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists (2015) and the László Meggyes Prize (2019). His works can be found in several Hungarian public collections.
