Gábor ATLASZ
(1966, Szeged) painter
He graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (MKE) in 1994, where his mentor was László Sándor Veress. Between 2003 and 2008, he taught drawing and painting at the object restoration department of MKE, and he is still teaching in professional workshops. He is a representative of the Day of Hungarian Painting Foundation and a member of its Board of Trustees. His painting and theatre work has formed an integral unit since the 1990s, and he has written and directed total art and theatrical performances based on the worlds of 12 painters. In addition to his exhibitions in Hungary, he has also had solo exhibitions in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Stuttgart in recent years. His most important prizes include the Barcsay Prize (1994), the Grand Prix of the “The Baroque” painting competition (2003), the Prize of the Autumn Exhibition of Vásárhely (2009), and the Magdolna Supka Memorial Prize (2016). His works can be found in the Christian Museum of Esztergom, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the János Tornyai Museum and the Galerie Kunsthöfle in Stuttgart, among others.
