Miklós HALMY

Kossuth Prize and Munkácsy Award-winning sculptor, graphic artist, painter
He graduated from the Faculty of Naval Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He turned to the visual arts in 1962 and became a member of the Studio of Young Artists. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1960s and later spent three months at the artists’ colony in Vance, hosted by Mihály Károlyi’s wife. He was a member of the Hungarian Society of Painters and the Szinyei Merse Society. His works are included in the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery, the Modern Gallery in Pécs, the Sárospatak Gallery and the collection of the Károlyi Foundation in Vance.
