Munkácsy Award and Kossuth Prize-winning painter, Artist of the Nation
He studied at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts from 1958. He followed the traditions of European neo-avant-garde art and from 1968 participated at Iparterv exhibitions. He participated in founding of the Budapest Workshop and in devel oping its programme in 1971. He worked at the Arts Department of the Institute for Popular Education between 1971 and 1979. He later became a teacher at the Hungarian College of Applied Arts and the director of the Institute for Cultural Theory and Teacher Training. His works are present in some of the world’s most renowned public collections
