Jenő LÉVAY

(1954, Budapest) fine artist

He obtained his first degree at the Teacher Training College of Eger (now Eszterházy Károly Catholic University) in 1978 and graduated with an MA in teaching from the same institute in 2009. He was one of the founders of the Xertox Group in 1981. His most important recognitions are the Grand Prix of the XVIII. National Graphic Art Biennial (1996), the 3rd prize in the Shinkenchiku Residential Design Competition (1997), the Grand Prix of the 9th National Biennial of Drawing (1998), the Munkácsy Award (1999), a scholarship from the Hungarian Academy in Rome (2000), his participation in the exhibition of the “Trans” Szolnok Fine Arts Society, and an award from the Hungarian Academy of Arts (2020). He had a solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Budapest in 2014. His works can be found in the collections of the Hungarian National Museum, the Budapest History Museum, the Ministry of Culture, the Gallery of Miskolc, the Ottó Herman Museum, the János Xantus Museum, the Békés County Library, the Studio of Young Artists, the National Graphic Workshop in Vác, the KOGART and the Natural History Museum.
