Gábor ERDÉLYI
(1970, Budapest) painter
He graduated in painting from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1995 and completed his postgraduate studies at the same institution in 1997. His works have regularly been displayed at solo and group exhibitions since 1989. He won awards from both the Corvina Foundation and the Walz Foundation in 1995. He received the Barcsay Award and the Derkovits Scholarship in 1996, and his artistic achievement was recognized with the Munkácsy Award in 2009. He took part in the Budapest Gallery’s Lisbon scholarship programme in 2000. He held the art scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Arts from 2018 to 2021. His works can be found in the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery, the Ludwig Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Dunaújváros, the Ferenczy Museum in Szentendre, the Paks Gallery and the Győr Gallery, as well as the Shashoua Collection in London.
