(1952, Szilágysomlyó / Simleul Silvaniei, RO) painter

He graduated in 1974 from the Nicolae Grigorescu Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, where he also completed his MA degree in 1975. He was a guest set designer and the graphic designer of posters for the Or adea State Theatre. He has been participating in individual and group exhibitions since 1975. He moved to Hungary in 1982; he has been living and working in Budapest since then. He was a graphic designer at the Budapest Játékszín from 1983 to 1996, at the Merlin Theatre from 1996 to 1999, and the dir ector of the Merlin Gallery in 1996. He worked as an associate at the P etőfi Literary Museum between 1999 and 2014. His most important awards include the Derkovits scholarship (1984-1986), the Munkácsy Award (1999), the Liszt Memorial Medal (2011) and the title of Meritorious Artist of Hungary (2024). He is a regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. The jubilee exhibitions marking his 60th and 70th birthdays were held at the Museum Kiscell and the Pesti Vigadó in 2011 and 2021, respectively. He had a solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Budapest in 2024. His works can be found in numerous domestic and international public and private collections.
