Zoltán SEBESTYÉN

(1954, Budapest) painter

He studied at the Hungarian College of Arts between 1980 and 1987, graduating in 1984 with a degree in painting. His masters were Károly Klimó and János Blaski. He worked as an art teacher at the Miklós Ybl Technical College in 1987. He is one of the founding members of the Block Group, set up in 1990, a member of MAMŰ Society since 1992 and a member of the Fine Ar ts Society in Szolnok since 2002. He won the Land Brandenburg scholarships (1995) as well as the scholarships of the Budapest-Frankfurt exchange programme (1997) and the Cité International des Arts in Paris (2003). He received the Lipót Herman Prize (1985), and the Munkácsy Award (2003). He has had solo exhibitions in Hungary and in the big cities of Europe, the USA and Turkey. His paintings can be found in the public collections of the Museum of Paks, the Gallery of Győr, the M useum of Salgótarján, the H ungarian National Museum, as well as Wiepersdorf and Frankfurt am Main.
