István STARK
(1960, Sárospatak) fine artist
He worked as an etching printer in the Graphic Workshop of the Képcsarnok Company from 1978 and as a graphic printer in the Creative Community of Etching Artists from 1980 to 1982. He obtained an MA in graphic art and painting in 1987 at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts, where he was a student of Gábor Nagy, Károly Raszler and Pál Gerzson. He has been a member of the board of trustees and artistic director of the Széchenyi Art Colony Foundation since 1997 and the chairman of its board of trustees since 2014. He founded the Tolcsva Nature Art Colony in 1998 and co-founded the Hungarian Electrographic Society, in 2001. He has received several art scholarships awarded by the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists, the Hungarian Academy of Arts and the National Cultural Fund of Hungary. He has been teaching at the Sárospatak Reformed College since 2014 and at the Comenius Teacher Training College and its legal successor, Tokaj-Hegyalja University, since 2016.
