Áron GÁBOR

(1954, Budapest) painter

Between 1979 and 1986, he participated in the activities of the Indigo Group, led by Miklós Erdély. He graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1981 under the supervision of Ignác Kokas and completed his MA at the institution’s Department of Murals between 1982 and 1983 with Károly Klimó as his master. He was a Derkovits fellow between 1983 and 1986. He works as a painter, graphic artist and sculptor as well as an installation and video artist. In addition to group exhibitions, he has had numerous solo exhibitions, including one at the Kunsthalle Budapest in 2023. He worked on a scholarship in Rome between 1994 and 1995 and in Lisbon in 2003. His work can be found at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest and Aachen, the Hungarian National Gallery, the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest, the Janus Pannonius Museum and the King St Stephen Museum, as well as in public collections in Dresden and Vienna and in private collections.
