Tamás GILLY
(1984, Kecskemét) sculptor
He graduated in sculpture in 2009 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his masters were Ádám Farkas, Zoltán Karmó and Péter Gálhidy. Then, he completed a course in art and visual education at the same institution in 2011. He is a member of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists, the Hungarian Sculptors’ Society and the Szolnok Society of Fine Arts, as well as a founding member and regular participant at the Szolnok Bronze Sculpture Symposium. He won the Barcsay Prize in 2006, the HM Kaszó Forestry Prize at the Nagyatád Biennial of Woodcarving in 2008, the prize awarded by the General Assembly of Somogy County at the National Woodcarving Exhibition in 2010 and the Zoltán Borbereki Kovács Prize in 2016. He received a scholarship from the National Cultural Fund first between 2016 and 2018 and then between 2020 and 2021. He received the Géza Samu Prize in 2022 and won a scholarship from the Hungarian Academy of Arts in 2023. His public artwork can be seen in Zalaszentgrót.
