Gábor VÉSSEY
(1949, Budapest) painter
He graduated in painting in 1972 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (MKE), where his masters were Géza Fónyi and László Sándor Veress. He also completed the master school at the institution between 1972 and 1975. He is equally active in the areas of printmaking, graphic art, painting and sculpture. He was a lecturer at MKE between 1988 and 2016. He has been a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts since 2013. He received the Munkácsy Award in 2005, the Hungart Prize in 2009 and the Kölcsey Prize in 2013. His works can be found in the collections of the Art Gallery of Kiskőrös, the Art Gallery of Szombathely, the P etőfi Literary Museum and the KOGART.
