Andrea Katalin GULYÁS
(1986, Budapest) fine artist
She graduated with a BA in graphic design from the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University of Eger in 2012, and with an MA in visual art teaching and talent development in 2016. She has been living and working in M ezőszemere since 2011. She creates conceptual paintings and installations with symbolic meaning through the enigmatic combination of philosophical meaning and optical representation. She has held her most important solo exhibitions in Budapest and Szihalom. She co-founded the Szabadkéz Gallery and Artists’ Colony, together with Tamás Kótai and Imre Huszár in 2018. She won a prize at the Miskolc Triennial of Graphic Art in 2014, and at the Szeged Summer Exhibition in 2015, while she was awarded the main prize at the 5th National Watercolour Triennial in 2024. She won the Derkovits scholarship for the period between 2020 and 2022, and she has held a creative fellowship by the Hungarian Academy of Arts since 2023. She is represented by the Faur Zsófi Gallery.
