Tibor iski KOCSIS
(1972, Kisvárda) painter
He graduated in 2001 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his master was Zoltán Tölg-Molnár. Then he obtained a degree as a teacher of art history and visual education at the same institution in 2004. His working method is defined by an analytical approach to the reminiscences and applications of the technical image and digital society, from the perspective of both manual and traditional visual art. He has exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions, both in Hungary and abroad since 1997. He is a founding member and the artistic director of the VILTIN Gallery. He has also been working as an art teacher since 2015. He won the Strabag Painting Prize in 2002, the scholarship of the Hungarian Academy in Rome in 2004 and the Derkovits scholarship between 2004 and 2007. He was recognised with the Munkácsy Award in 2018. He held a scholarship awarded by the Hungarian Academy of Arts between 2018 and 2021. His works can be found in several prominent public and private collections in Hungary and other European countries.
