György FUSZ
(1955, Szekszárd) sculptor, ceramic artist
He graduated in 1981 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his master was Árpád Csekovszky. He makes ceramic, bronze and stone sculptures. He won the Noémi Ferenczy Award in 1997, the Mihály Babits Award in 2008 and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic in 2015. In recent years, his solo exhibitions have been held in Pécs, Kecskemét and Budapest. He has worked under scholarships in Rome, Philadelphia, Bern and China. His works can be found in the collections of the Museum of Applied Arts (Budapest), the Janus Pannonius Museum (Pécs), the International Ceramic Art Studio (Kecskemét), the De Forma Foundation (Pécs), the Municipality of Tolna County, as well as in the Clay Studio in Philadelphia (USA) and in Fuping (China). His open-air sculptures can be found in Paks, Szekszárd, Kaposvár and Bácsalmás.
