Ákos BÁNKI
(1982, Kazincbarcika) painter
He graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2006, where he was greatly influenced by Sándor Molnár and Orsolya Drozdik, not only in regard to painting but also the philosophical approach and teaching of this branch of art. Since graduating from university, he has been an active participant in the Hungarian contemporary art scene and has held solo exhibitions every year. He founded three independent galleries (mű-Vész Pince, Roham, Latarka), where he organises exhibitions for his fellow artists. He has been the fine art editor of the cultural magazine Highway since 2020, and the curator and co-owner of the Resident Art Gallery since 2018. His work was recognised with the Munkácsy Award in 2024.
