Bálint MIKSA
(1970, Siklós) painter
He graduated in 1994 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his masters were Gábor Nagy and Pál Gerzson. He develops his paintings from a single point and then liberates them from the supporting surface. They can be installed away from the wall and thus become free, floating, independent entities, while they can also be perceived as models of the cosmos expressed through painting. He won the Lipót Herman Prize (1994), was a Geneva scholarship holder (1995) and was also a holder of the Derkovits scholarship between 2003 and 2005. He has had solo exhi bitions in Budapest, Kőszeg and Nice in recent years.
