Kriszta x-T NAGY

(1972, Szolnok) painter, intermedia artist

She graduated from the Intermedia Department of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in 1994 and completed the Painting Programme there in 1998. Her master was Dóra Maurer. She has been an exhibiting artist since 1993. She was among the first to incorporate photographs and prints into high art in the 1990’s. She makes conceptual works. The central driving force in her work is to help contemporary fine art to occupy the same place in Hungarian public life as is already granted to literature, theatre, music and other branches of the arts. She received a Derkovits scholarship in 1998. Her works are regularly shown at exhibitions in Hungary and abroad, and she was one of two artists representing Hungary at the Manifesta exhibition in Zurich in 2016. Her works can be found in the collections of First Hungarian Art and Artifact Repository, the Ludwig Museum, the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Dunaújváros and the MODEM in Debrecen.
