Imre BUKTA

(1952, Mezőszemere) fine artist

He started his career as a self-taught artist in the 1970s. He graduated from the University of Pécs in 2007 and habilitated at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in 2010. He taught at art universities for sixteen years. Retrospective exhibitions of his work were organised at the MODEM in Debrecen (2007) as well the Kunsthalle Budapest (2012) and the Kieselbach Gallery (2019) in Budapest. he was awarded the title Meritorious Artist of Hungary in 1997 and he won the Kossuth Prize in 2023.
