Mihály KÉRI
(1949, Sárbogárd) painter
He studied fine arts at the art school of Gyula Szepes in Érd from 1962 and then at the Railway’s Free School of Fine Arts. He graduated as a theatre director from the academy of the Institute of Popular Education in 1972. He studied andragogy and library science at the Debrecen Teacher Training College and completed further studies at the Eötvös Loránd University. He has been participating in exhibitions in Hungary and abroad since 1972. He is a member of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists and the Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists, as well as a founding member of the Society of Hungarian Painters. He co-founded the X-Art Association with his fellow painters in 1992. He has been a member of the Patak Group since 1995 and was a senior contributor to the journal Duna-part between 2000 and 2012. He became the head of the Artists’ Colony of Érd in 2009 and the director of the Gallery of Érd in 2012. He received the Munkácsy Award in 2020.
