Zsófia FARKAS

(1972, Budapest) sculptor

She graduated in sculpture in 2000 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where her master was Tamás Körösényi. She was an assistant at the Department of Sculpture at the institution from 2000 to 2002, and head teacher of sculpture at the Szentendre Secondary School of Art between 2004 and 2006. She has regularly exhibited her works and participated in numerous international sculpture symposia since 1997. In recent years, she has held solo exhibitions in Budapest, Prague and Szentendre. She won the Lipót Hermann Prize in 2000, the scholarship awarded by the Studio of Young Artists Association in 2001, the Derkovits scholarship in 2003 and the Salzburg creative scholarship of the Budapest Gallery in 2009. Her works can be found in public spaces in Dunaújváros, Budapest and Szentendre.
