Botond POLGÁR
(1980, Gyergyószentmiklós / Gheorgheni, RO) sculptor
He studied sculpture from 2000 to 2008 at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his masters were Ádám Farkas and Zoltán Karmó. He has been teaching sculpture at the same institution since 2008 and obtained his DLA there in 2020. He has been the head of the university’s Department of Sculpture since 2023. He exhibits on a regular basis. He received the Ludwig Award, (2003) the Géza Samu Award (2005), the Diploma Award of the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists (2008), the KOGART Contemporary Art Scholarship (2008), the Award for Hungarian Art (2014) and the Zoltán Borbereki- Kovács Prize (2019). He received an art scholarship from the Hungarian Academy of Arts in 2019. His sculptures can be seen in public spaces in Budapest and Gyergyószentmiklós.
