Zoltán KARMÓ

(1959, Baja) sculptor

He graduated in sculpture in 1989 from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts, where his master was József Somogyi. He started teaching at the Secondary School of Visual Arts in 1986 and at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts (now the Hungarian University of Fine Arts) from 1993. He is an associate professor and was the head of the department of sculpture at the latter institution between 2010 and 2018. He won the Derkovits scholarship in 1989 and the Munkácsy Award in 2002. He has had many solo and group exhibitions in Hungary and several countries in Europe since 1990.
