Dániel HORVÁTH
(1980, Budapest) painter
He completed his higher education between 2000 and 2006, majoring in painting at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his master was Árpád Szabados. He obtained his doctorate at the same institution in 2018. He has been a member of the FKSE Studio of Young Artists’ Association since 2001, the curator of the Hungarian Painting Day since 2016, and deputy chairman of this event since 2017. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions since 2008. He took part in the Budapest Gallery’s Lisbon artist exchange programme in 2011 and won a scholarship from the Hungarian Academy in Rome in 2016. He became Head of the Department of Painting as a master professor at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2021. His accolades include the Béla Kondor Prize (2005), the Lipót Herman Prize (2006), the Essl Award 2nd Prize (2007), a Derkovits scholarship (2008–2011), the Esterházy Prize (2009) and the Jenő Maticska Prize (2015).
