Róbert VÁRADY
(1950, Budapest) painter
He graduated in 1980 from the Faculty of Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University, where his master was Ignác Kokas. In recent years, he has had solo exhibitions in Balatonboglár, Budapest, Vác and Stuttgart. He won the Derkovits scholarship for the period of 1982-1985 and received the Munkácsy Award (2002), the prize awarded by the Association of Hungarian Creative Artists (2013, 2017, 2021, 2024) and the Maecenas scholarship (2021). His works can be found in the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery, the INCLA in Paris, the Ignác Tragor Museum, the Petőfi Literary Museum, the Jewish Museum in Budapest, the Várfok Collection, the Körmendi Collection, the French Institute in Budapest, the King Saint Stephen Museum, MATÁV, KOGART, the Janus Pannonius Museum, the Municipal Museum of Art in Győr, the Rippl-Rónai Museum and the József Katona Museum.
