György OLAJOS
(1953, Budapest) fine artist
He graduated in 1984 from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts, where his masters were Imre Magyarász, György Benedek and Gábor Nagy. He has regularly exhibited his works since 1972. His oeuvre extends to graphic art, textile art and painting. His important open-air works are the sgrafitto World Tree (Fényeslitke), the sundial Reloj de Sol (Cuba) and the bronze relief in the Buddhist stupa in Tar-Pásztó. He worked on scholarships in Paris, Rome, Graz, Lisbon, Bulgaria and Macedonia. His work was recognised with the Munkácsy Award in 2001.He won the award of the Hungarian Academy of Arts in 2024.
