Attila POKORNY
(1977, Marosvásárhely / Târgu Mureș, RO) sculptor
He graduated in 2001 from the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, where his master was Tibor Kolozsi, with whom he restored György Zala’s Monument of Liberty in 2003 in Arad (Oradea, RO). He participated in the DLA programme at the Master School of Fine Arts of the University of Pécs between 2006 and 2010. He has participated in several international symposia, art colonies and exhibitions, including the Geumgang Nature Art Biennial in Korea in 2012. He received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation’s support awarded to artists in 2011. He has been the main organiser of the Gernyeszeg International Castle Park Artists’ Colony for the last ten years. He is a member of the Miklós Barabás Guild, the MAMŰ Society Cultural Association, the Hungarian Sculptors’ Society and the Szolnok Fine Arts Society. He has numerous sculptures exhibited in public spaces in Budapest, Transylvania and Korea. His works can be found in public collections in Hungary and Transylvania.
