Kossuth Prize-winning sculptor and medal artist
He graduated from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts as a student of Tamás Gyenes and Pál Pátzay. In addition to his public stone and bronze sculptures, following the traditions of Realism, he also made narrative small sculptures and medals. He won the first prize at the Giorgio Vasari International Commemorative Medal competition in Florence in 1974 and a silver medal at the Ravenna Dante Biennial in 1979. He won the Vilmos Roisz Award twice at the National Biennial of Medallic Art in Sopron. From 1990, he was a jury member at the International Dante Biennial of Small Sculpture held in Ravenna. He was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit in 2009.
