Gergő ÁMMER
(1988, Marcali) sculptor
He graduated from the Department of Sculpture of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2018, wher e his mentors were Pál Kő, Péter Gálhidy and Géza Sallai. The focus of his art is the contemporary reinterpretation of mythological and biblical stories, which he elevates beyond time-bound actuality using classical materials such as marble and bronze. He has been participating in group and solo exhibitions since 2014. He won the Tornyai Plaque at the Autumn Exhibition of Vásárhely in 2018, and he received the Derkovits scholarship for the period between 2019 and 2021. He is currently a fellow of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. His works can be found in the collection of the MBH Bank, the János Tornyai Museum and in several private collections.
