KATONA Zoltán

(1959, Bag) festőművész

He graduated in painting in 1982 from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where his master was János Blaski. He is one of the founders of the Block Group and a permanent participant in its exhibitions. He has been participating in the work of the Art Camp Artists’ Colony in Jászberény since 1991. He held the Derkovits scholarship for the period of 1993-1996. He was one of the artists of the Atelier Pro Art in Budapest from 2001 to 2004 and then worked at the Artists’ Colony in Szolnok for two years. He won the scholarship of the Hungarian Academy in Rome in 2007. 1982-ben szerzett diplomát az MKE festő szakán, mestere Blaski János volt. A Block Csoport egyik alapítója és kiállításainak állandó szereplője. 1991-től vesz részt a jászberényi Art Camp művésztelep munkájában. 1993–1996 között Derkovits-ösztöndíjas volt, 2001 és 2004 között a budapesti Atelier Pro Art alkotója, majd két évig a Szolnoki Művésztelepen dolgozott. 2007-ben elnyerte a Római Magyar Akadémia ösztöndíját.
